Closing Shop

I'm sorry to say that I'm going to have to close down this blog for a while. It will actually still be up for you to visit, but there wont be any new posts for you to view. Sorry about this! I'm too caught up in so many other things right now to keep this going. If you need another blog to read for now please go to my illustration (and only active) blog: www.daniduckart.blogspot.ca

Stopping to Smell the Sky

I've been so busy lately that I've just forgotten how the city I live in is beautiful (partly because I live in a basement suite). I finished my scheduled time at the Golf and Travel show around 5 yesterday. My main goal was coffee. I had gone the whole day without any caffeine and my body was suffering from withdraw. On my way to the food court there was this area that had a lovely view of the water. I noticed this view and stopped. I had to get a picture before I moved on. I had been inside all day and even though I was inside then too it almost felt like outdoors.

Its good for people to take the time every now and again to breath the outdoor air. I hope you too have a site like this not far from your house. If not, you should come visit Vancouver!  If you'll excuse me, it's a beautiful day and I'm going to play with my son outside!

I Hope My Head Comes Back Soon

I've been basically living in a constant state of memory loss and frustration. I think I mentioned that my son has been sick lately. He has an ear infection so it means he is an ogre (he extra cries and extra poops-Shrek). Right now it's difficult to come up with subjects to talk about because my days are filled with fruitless cleaning (he throws things around the second I put them away), dirty diaper, and a constant whining.  He is getting better now, but things are far from our regular grove.

I have not had a day off in longer than I can remember. I think it might be hard for me to post a lot in the next few weeks because it's hard for me to think.  I know it seems like I'm complaining a lot, but I feel it to be more of an explanation than complaining. Things will get easier, then harder, than easier, rinse and repeat and then I'll die. Ha, ha, ha! I do hope I have my head back soon, so that I can continue to create confusing posts.

RELAX!

I keep dreaming about posting, but I never get around to it. Why is there never enough time in the day to do what you want to do? I feel like all my days are filled with work. Working on my new job as a Financial Advisor. Working on taking care of my 2 year old. Working on cleaning the house. Working on my blogs and networking. Working on getting the high score on my video games. Okay, mostly all work.

I don't sit back and relax enough. It's one of my flaws. When I do relax and watch a tv show I'm usually doing something else like checking emails catching up on news, networking or even playing a game. I EVEN MULTI-TASK MY RELAXATION TIME! One of these days I'm going to have to take a spa day to relax (in about five years).

It's not just having a day to relax, but being relaxed even when things are crazy. Being able to slow down and have fun in the moment. I can do this sometimes, but \if I don't keep working my mind still goes off on a tangent. The biggest reason I want to change myself this way is for my son. I'm home all day, but we don't spend enough time playing (because the dishes need done or I need to finish whatever).  I am going to make a huge effort to spend more time just having fun with my baby boy. He may be the only baby I have.

Do you relax enough? What are some of the things you do to relax?

My Son Doesn't Want Me to Eat

I swear my son doesn't want me to eat. I went to the fridge this morning (yesterday morning really) to make us some eggs. There were only two eggs left in the fridge, and my son is really picky about what he eats. If he's hungry enough he'll eat two eggs and whatever else is in the kitchen that he loves to eat. If not it will be a big mess on the floor. I was hoping today would be one of those days that he'd eat the eggs, so I gladly sacrificed them to him. I decided to make myself a stir fry instead. BIG MISTAKE! The second I bring out the bright orange pepper my son wants it. He kept saying "apple". I gave him half and he started stabbing it with his fork. I told him to eat it like an apple, so he somehow finds a way to take a bite out of the centre of the thing. Takes a few more bites and launches it across the floor. He's not interested in the mushrooms or onions I'm cooking and defiantly not his old eggs, so I let him down. It took me another 20 minutes to finish cooking my food because my stove top decided to stop working. I finally get to sit down with my food and he gets on my lap looking for his special cuddle time. Seriously, I don't know how I survived this long (by this long I mean two whole years) without eating! /rant

Time

I know I had time to do things today, but it must have not been enough. I planed to have enough time to do a decent post on this blog, but I soon found that I didn't. So hrm... did you hear the one about the Cat in the Hat?

An Important Public Message

So the office building where I work is a pretty average office building. The atmosphere is very professional, the plants are all trimmed and nicely arranged. The building itself is clean and well managed. This goes doubly for the wash rooms. I even found this important public message posted in one such wash room.

Ooohhh... that's how you do it.
